Dropping Dimes On The Daily: January 10, 2007

Dropping Dimes On The Daily is all about me looking at the previous night’s performances and mentioning those that did pretty goodly and those that did pretty badly. Goodly is a word, right? Anyway, this will be a quick look around the league, so don’t expect a ton of text, just some daily fantasy basketball goodness!!! Please note that this is the fantasy basketball section of ElevationMag.com’s Daily Top Picks. Check it out and see your daily rumors, quotes, headlines, and facts! But read the fantasy section HERE!
The Fig Cap: “Wow. It’s like I’m in college again!”
WHOA! I’m not exactly sure what I believe in more - Santa Claus or Nick Collison going off for 29 points (12-for-18 from the floor) and 21 rebounds. What the heck happened here? I really don’t know what to say about this. Seriously. But, I guess I have to. So, I’ll say that I would pick up Santa Claus off the waiver wire before I ever pick up Collison. Unless I’m in a deep league, so if you are PICK HIM UP ALREADY!... It was Tayshaun Prince’s time to shine (33 points including five treys) with Chauncey Billups still on the mend… Another Piston who shined last night was Ronald Murray who had a double-dozen in points and dime drops. Yes, I said Ronald Murray… Nice to see Shawn Marion rebounding again (15 boards); and the 29 points are nice too… I knew there was a reason I made Samuel Dalembert my first center in most leagues - 17 points, 14 rebounds, and four “get that shiznit out of here"s… Rookie Andrea Bargnani had 22 points, including four bombs last night. He is definitely NOT bombing as a number one overall draft pick thus far. Bryan Colangelo - GENIUS! So far… Jason Kidd almost had a triple-double again, but fell short by two glass wipings (10/8/14)... Alexander Johnson is a starter for the Memphis Grizzlies, in case you didn’t know. He finished with 10 points and 10 boards. Maybe deep leaguers need to pay attention… T.J. Ford couldn’t get it done (0 points and one assist), so Jose Calderon decided he had to (16 points and a dozen dimes dropped). Don’t worry about Ford. Same with Calderon… The line I like - Jeff Foster with eight points, 17 boards, and three blocks… Ray Allen scored 25 points, but on 9-for-23 from the field. He’s no Nick Collison, that’s for sure… Til next time!

I do own Collison in a deep H2H league, and didn’t get to set my lineups last night…of course, he was on the bench…

Foster had 3 steals, not blocks.

GIVE ME A BREAK! I wrote this at two in the morning!!! And, if anything, I like the line even better thinking about that big goof getting three steals instead of blocks!!!

I got offered Ron Artest, Al Jefferson, and Brandon Roy for my Caron Butler. Do it? I would be dropping Ruben Patterson and either Tony Allen or Darko.

Roto league, 12 teams, cats are FG%, FT%, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, ST, BLK, TO.
There are 10 starters, three bench, PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, util, util as the starters
I guess I have to drop Tony Allen for sure, but the rest of my team is Mike Redd, JR Smith, Caron Butler, Darko, Ruben Patterson, Chris Kaman, Chris Bosh, Luke Ridnour, David Lee, Kevin Martin, Deron Williams, and Lamar Odom. My team’s been hurt a lot by injuries and I went from having five and six point cushions in first place to being second by three points, so I’m not sure I really want to give up (current) best or second best player.
