Injury Lowdown: One Thumb Down - Mike Bibby To Miss First Two Weeks

Mike Bibby injured his thumb in an exhibition game against the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday. It was diagnosed that Mike Bibby has a mallet thumb – an injury in which a finger tendon becomes detached from a bone, preventing the finger to fully extend. Ouch!
Fantasy Lowdown:
New addition John Salmons will get a little more burn in Bibby’s absence. John Salmons should start at PG and should be considered in deep leagues. Last year as a starter, Salmons averaged 9.5 points, 4.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds with a decent 46.5 FG%. Jason Hart will see some time backing up Salmon and should not be picked up.
For H2H leagues, the Sacramento Kings’ schedule for Week 1 & 2 consists of three games each. For those who have drafted Mike Bibby (I am included) you will need to suck it up and make do. For leagues that have not drafted yet do not drop Bibby too far down your cheat sheets. If it MUST happen it is better that the injury happened early in the fantasy season instead during your playoff run. Mike Bibby in the last three seasons has only missed two games so chances are he will be healthy for the rest of the season.
