I am not much of a gambler. I may occasionally buy a lottery ticket if it is a large jackpot. I do not even participate in the weekly office football pool. I even bring an umbrella to work even though the forecast predicts only a 20% chance of rain. I just do not like leaving things to chance.
However, I will bet that Gerald Wallace will miss some games this year?! With a nickname like “Crash”, you are bound to miss some games. Looking back at his four years with Charlotte, he has missed 69 games. That translates into an average of 17 games per season.
Gerald Wallace is a high risk/high reward player whose name might be staring at you in the early rounds of your fantasy draft. Have a peep and see why you should invest an early pick on Gerald Wallace despite his well-documented injury woes.

Emeka Okafor’s Blocks and Boards…

Not to be outdone by Andris Biedrins, the Charlotte Bobcats signed offense-less big man Emeka Okafor to a six year, $72 million deal. There were a few rumors of a sign and trade, but one look at the rest of the low post players on the Bobcats’ roster, and there was a very slim chance that this would happen. I can’t imagine that Larry Brown has a ton of faith in Sean May staying healthy this year, and the Ryan Hollins/Nazr Mohammed combo isn’t exactly the most prolific in the game.

Dropping Dimes Two-on-Two Tourney: Round 1, Games 5 and 6

Props to Sarge for his piece that landed on Yahoo sports. If you are into baseball, check it out. I asked Sarge for his secret to success once. He said it helps to be really, really, really good looking. We all can’t be Zoolanders like Sarge, but we can keep things rolling on in our two-on-two tourney.
Yao Ming continues to sit out of this year’s playoffs. His Houston Rockets showed some guts by winning Game 3 in Utah, but they now head home down 3-1. Regardless of the the goings on in the real world, his name has been called to step onto the court for our tourney, where we assume he is at full health and in peak condition. Who gets to partner up with Yao? Check it out.

Beyond the Arc: Week 17

Well, the week is over, so hopefully everyone won their matchups. Short weeks can either be a good pick-me-up if you need some wins, or a very bad ordeal if you have a good team that lost to an inferior one due to games played.
Let me preface this All-Star edition by saying I truly hope The Big Easy pulls this off. It’s probably going to be a big factor in whether basketball stays in New Orleans. Sadly, with the attendance figures down there, it’s looking like a negative. But I think if they can pull off a great All-Star Weekend, that may change. One can only hope.

The Daily finds what’s shiny each night, brushes off the dirt to reveal any blemishes and then makes a fair assesment in regards to certain players’ fantasy values.
Look at that man on the right. He looks like a natural. He’s so tall, so athletic and oozes potential the way Gilbert Arenas oozes cockiness. He dropped 24 points in 24 minutes last night and he’s center eligible. Sounds like you should act swiftly, right? Not if you know how Swift acts. Only a sucka would pick him up. And you’re not a sucka.
