Props to the Ironmen
The summer blockbuster season is almost upon us. NBA fans have already had a few blockbuster games in the playoffs; that double-overtime game between San Antonio and Phoenix was incredible.
In this retrospective article, we praise the players that played every single game, a luxury all fantasy owners know is few and far between. There are quite a few surprises on this list.

It’s my first crack at this DDoTD thing and I only get to write about one game? Gee, thanks guys.
Anyways, yesterday was one of those funky one-game days fantasy owners hate (or love, depending on how busy you are). At least it was a good one. Too bad most people don’t get NBATV.
The Fig Cap: That’s right, Mr. Classy. You knock down those shots. No Jason, JUMPshots.

Dropping Dimes Mock Draft 2007: Round 6, Pick 1 - Jason Terry
Posted by Alvin Lai Categories: H2H, Roto, Site Features, Southwest Division, Dallas Mavericks, Talent

People who follow “real” basketball probably have a small beef with Terry going at this point. After all, the Mavs have enjoyed much success in recent years, and “Jet” is one of the main reasons why.
We focus on fantasy hoops here. And thus, the perspective from this angle sometimes differs from reality. That is why all-stars like Tony Parker and Richard Hamilton have yet to see their names called in this draft blog, while some “questionable” players with known limitations in their game have been picked. Real life game sometimes does not translate into fantasy sports. Ask anyone who passed on Peyton Manning or Tom Brady multiple times while taking a running back who has never made the Pro Bowl.
So let us look into why Terry is more of a commercial airliner than a jet and how he stands to be good value at this point in the draft.
Round 6, Pick 1: Jason Terry, PG/SG, Dallas Mavericks

Dropping Dimes On The Daily is all about me looking at the previous night’s performances and mentioning those that did pretty goodly and those that did pretty badly. Goodly is a word, right? Anyway, this will be a quick look around the league, so don’t expect a ton of text, just some daily fantasy basketball goodness!!! Please note that this is the fantasy basketball section of ElevationMag.com’s Daily Top Picks. Check it out and see your daily rumors, quotes, headlines, and facts! But read the fantasy section HERE!
The Fig Cap: The Kansas City Royals may stink, but Brandon Roy’s game definitely does not.

Stat’s All Folks: Let’s Get Spicy!
Posted by Dennis Velasco Categories: H2H, Rookies, Roto, Site Features, Talent, Boston Celtics, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Bobcats, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Hornets, San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trailblazers, Seattle Supersonics, Utah Jazz, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings
Stat’s All Folks will be a week-to-week stock market look at the standard cumulative categories – points, assists, rebounds, three-pointers made, steals, and blocks. I’ll be calling out the “bulls” and “bears” in each category, in order to help you assess your portfolio of players on your fantasy basketball team(s) and whether you should sell, hold, and/or diversify your assets.
Note that you won’t always see the superstar player written about in this column, otherwise it would be LeBron James or Steve Nash every week. So, check out who’s bullish and who’s bearish coming into the week.
Statistics are through November 29th – December 5th.
POINTS
BULLISH
Eddy Curry, C, New York Knicks
Last Week’s Numbers of Note: 4 G; 25.3 PPG; 60.3 FG%; 60.8 FT%
I’ll admit and say that I was a non-believer. And to some degree I still am – I’ll chalk that up to me being a disgruntled Knicks fan. But, I simply could not believe that Eddy Curry scoring as much as he was the week before was the real deal. If Howie Mandel was in front of me, I would have emphatically said, “NO DEAL!” But, you can’t argue with seven games in a row of 20+ points because instead of Curry’s physique blowing up, his post game is. Buy into it because head coach Isiah Thomas has, recently saying that Curry was the key to the team and that’s music to every Curry owner’s ears. Hopefully it doesn’t turn out to sound like an American Idol tryout.

Dropping Dimes Draft Blog: Round 5, Pick 4

Round 5, Pick 4: Mike James, PG, Minnesota Timberwolves
With the number of point guards that have gone off of the board already, I’ve noticed that only three of them had a field goal percentage [last season] over 47%: Dwyane Wade, Steve Nash, and Jason Terry. With Terry already being on this squad, and not exactly being the biggest dime-dropper out there, I decided to ensure that along with my two big-men, I’d lock up another top-12 point guard – by my estimation. I’d even consider arguing that James could be better than Terry this season…

Dropping Dimes Draft Blog: Round 4 Recap
Posted by Dennis Velasco Categories: Site Features
This round saw 33% of the picks go towards the C spot as the hypothetical draft we are drafting for starts two centers. Excellent segue or not, at this point of the draft, let me catch you readers up on the logistics of the league. First, the non-specific, we are not drafting for H2H or ROTO, in particular, so we’ll do our best to mention them in our blog posts. Second, the positions - PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, Util, Util. We won’t be drafting a bench (unless we have time), but hopefully from the Util picks we make you’ll get an idea of who we like at the latter end of the draft. Of course, if you have questions or commments, please leave them below.
