Brand Name
Elton Brand signed his big contract with Philadelphia earlier in the week, and now must suit up for quarter-final two-on-two basketball! It might not be Federer vs. Nadal in the Wimbledon Final, but an interesting duo awaits Mr. Brand Name.

Chris Bosh the cowboy
Yee haw! Actually, boo hoo. The NBA season is in the books. Thankfully, before hoops withdrawal sets it after the conclusion of the Finals, we have the draft to look forward to this Thursday, and the rumor mill is already churning. I heard on the radio today that there might be a deal in the works involving Jermaine O’Neal joining up with Cowboy Bosh here in exchange for T. J. Ford, Rasho Nesterovic (and his valuable expiring contract) and the Raps’ first round pick. Bosh and Jermaine would make interesting partners.

Interesting partners is what our tourney is all about. Bosh is in action this week, so check it!

Meanwhile, let’s see how I see this past week’s two-on-two match-ups. Then the last two games of the first round are presented.

It will dive into playing time trends, injury replacements, and even an occasional category specialist—all of which can be found on a typical waiver wire within your fantasy league at any given time.

With the All-Star break right around the corner, a few teams within the Association cannot wait for it to get here thanks to several big injuries throughout the league.  In fact, we’ve already had an All-Star game replacement as Kevin Garnett’s abdominal injury has opened the door for Detroit’s Rasheed Wallace to take part in the festivities.  While he hopes the Western Conference puts Dirk Nowitzki opposite him on gameday, fantasy owners will be left to fill any void which they may have over the next few days.  Below, you’ll see plenty of options for your backcourt, with a surprise mention for a second-half frontcourt presence.  Could a certain big man ride off into the Sun-set with one last ring?  No pun intended, of course…
